IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM SERBU (SEDEKAH SEHARI SERIBU) UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN SIKAP EMPATI PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TKIT AN-NUUR KOTA MADIUN

ABSTRACT Empathy is an essential attitude for early childhood as it enables children to understand others' feelings, demonstrate care and concern, and develop positive social relationships. This study aims to describe the implementation of the SERBU Program in fostering empathy among early childhood learners. Specifically, it examines the stages of program implementation, the development of children's empathetic attitudes, and the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the implementation of the program.
This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
The findings reveal that the implementation of the SERBU Program consists of four stages: planning, implementation, distribution, and evaluation. The program is carried out through habituation, teacher role modeling, social activities, and continuous guidance for children. The implementation of the SERBU Program contributes positively to the development of children's empathy, as reflected in their caring behavior toward peers, willingness to help, sharing, cooperation, and respect for others' feelings. Supporting factors include the active involvement of teachers, a conducive school environment, and parental support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include differences in children's developmental characteristics and the lack of optimal habituation practices in the home environment.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the SERBU Program has been implemented effectively and has made a positive contribution to fostering empathy in early childhood through consistent habituation, social experiences, and teacher role modeling.
