Self-care deficit is one of the symptoms experienced by schizophrenia patients as one of the negative symptoms, someone who experiences abnormalities in the unwillingness to bathe regularly, not combing hair, dirty clothes, body odor, and untidy appearance. The purpose of this paper is to provide nursing care to schizophrenic patients who experience self-care deficits including assessment, data analysis, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
This nursing care was carried out on January 22, 2023 to January 26, 2023 in the Abimanyu Room of Dr.ARIF Zainudin Surakarta Hospital for 5 days with a nursing care process approach.
The results of the assessment obtained are patients who experience self-care deficits. After carrying out nursing implementation using the implementation strategy, SP 1 the patient is able to practice and explain how to maintain personal hygiene, SP 2 the patient is able to do how to dress up, SP 3 the patient can practice how to eat and drink properly and correctly, SP 4 the patient can do defecation and BAK correctly. Patients with self-care deficits need the support and motivation of nurses in carrying out self-care so that the role of nurses is needed to carry out nursing care actions.
