NURSING CARE OF SCHIZOPHRENIC PATIENTS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF CHRONIC LOW SELF-ESTEEM

Chronic low self-esteem is a negative assessment or feeling of oneself or the patient's skills as if they are worthless, meaningless, helpless that occurs in a long time and continuously. If not treated immediately it will have an impact on more serious problems such as sensory perception disorders, violent behavior to social isolation. This case study aims to carry out nursing care in schizophrenic patients with chronic low self-esteem problems. The method in compiling this scientific paper is a case study with a nursing process approach starting from assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation.
The results of the study found that the patient felt useless, inferior, embarrassed. From this study there was no gap with theory and a nursing diagnosis of chronic low self-esteem was obtained. Nursing implementation is carried out for 5 days starting from SP 1-3 which is useful for building patient trust with nurses. Evaluation results can be achieved according to the criteria for the evaluation results determined by evidence that table tennis and gym activities are able to do it independently, make beds independently and clean the ward area sometimes independently with the help of nurses according to schedule. This nursing care provided has been able to increase the patient's self-esteem and make the patient a productive and confident person.
