Adolescents who have less knowledge about stunting prevention pose a significant risk of having a stunted baby born. Preparation for adolescents is carried out by increasing knowledge through the brainstorming method related to adequate nutrition for pregnant women and toddlers. This study applied a pre experimental design with one group pre-posttest design. The study population consisted of 35 PIK-R Kusuma Ganesha adolescents with a sample of 15 adolescents obtained through simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using SAP and SOP brainstorming and knowledge questionnaires. The research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test.
The results showed that most of the adolescents' knowledge prior to the brainstorming intervention was included in the unfavorable category of 9 adolescents (60%) and the good category of 6 adolescents (40%). While the level of knowledge of adolescents after being given a brainstorming intervention was almost entirely in the good category with a prevalence of 13 adolescents (86.7%) and in the unfavorable category of 2 adolescents (13.3%).
Based on statistical tests with the Wilcoxon signed rank test, a pvalue of 0.01 <α (0.05) was obtained, so that H1 was accepted. There was an effect of brainstorming on adolescent knowledge about stunting prevention at PIK-R Kusuma Ganesha. Adolescents can increase knowledge, insight, and information related to reproductive health, in this case, namely stunting prevention. The brainstorming method is considered an effective educational method to increase one's knowledge.
