The determination of suspects is a process contained in the Criminal Procedure Code. Of course, there a re stages that must be passed in order to uncover a crime. The thing that is generally done in the first stage is an investigation which is to determine whether a criminal incident is or not, when a criminal incident is known, it will proceed to the investigation stage. In this investigation stage is to find and collect evidence that sheds light on a crime and uncovers a perpetrator.
Therefore all criminal cases are not spared in terms of proof. The name of definite evidence is something that can prove whether the suspect is the perpetrator of the murder or not, supported by evidence according to Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code. This is where the role of criminal evidence as a supporting factor in the investigation process. However, what must be known at the investigation stage is also that there is a stage called a case title according to what is stated in the Regulation of the Head of the Indonesian National Police Number 12 of 2009. Which in this case title stage is for an explanation to the parties in carrying out the investigation process of a case carried out by investigators in the framework of handling a case thoroughly before it is submitted to the public prosecutor. So that the determination of the suspect which is indeed a stage in the investigation process is also supported by valid evidence or fulfilling at least two pieces of evidence and by holding a case title, the determination of the suspect of a crime can be properly disclosed.
