THE RELATIONSHIP OF MOTIVATION AND MOTHER'S BEHAVIOR IN PROVIDING BALANCED NUTRITION TO CHILDREN AGED 1-3 YEARS

Correlation Research at Posyandu in Baleasri Village, Ngariboyo Magetan Public Health Center Working Area

Toddlers were a vulnerable age group and most often suffer from malnutrition and malnutrition. Malnutrition was influenced by a lack of motivation from the family and behavioral aspects, especially poor parenting patterns in feeding practices for babies aged 1-3 years. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between motivation and mother’s behavior in providing balanced nutrition to children aged 1-3 years at the Posyandu in Baleasri Village, Ngariboyo Magetan Public Health Center Working Area. The design of this research was quantitative correlation. The population in this study were all mothers who had children aged 1-3 years at the Baleasri Village Posyandu, Ngariboyo Magetan Public Health Center Working Area, totaling 56 people, using a total sampling technique and a sample of 56 people was obtained. The variables of this research are the mother's motivation and behavior. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire. The statistical test used was Chi-Square. The research results showed that the majority of mothers had high motivation in providing balanced nutrition (69,6%). Most mothers have good behavior in providing balanced nutrition (69,6%). The results of data analysis obtained a p value = 0,000, which means there was a relationship between motivation and mother's behavior in providing balanced nutrition to children aged 1-3 years at the Posyandu in Baleasri Village, Ngariboyo Magetan Public Health Center Working Area. The higher the mother's motivation, the better the mother's behavior in providing balanced nutrition to her child.
