THE RELATIONSHIP OF PATIENTS' KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES WITH PRAYER BEHAVIOR WHEN SICK IN THE KH. MAS MANSUR’S ROOM MUHAMMADIYAH HOSPITAL OF PONOROGO

Prayer is a form of worship that is obligatory for every person who is Muslim in any condition and in any place. However, in reality there are still many patients who do not understand how to pray during illness, do not have a positive attitude towards prayer and do not even carry it out. In fact, if the patient performs worship when he is sick, it will make him feel calm and will speed up the healing process. This study aims to analyze the relationship between patient knowledge and attitudes and prayer behavior when sick in the KH. Mas Mansur room’s of RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo.
The design of this research is a correlational approachCross Sectional. The population was 2857 patients in 1 year. The sample in this study was 75 inpatients in the KH Mas Mansur room at RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo who had gone through 5 prayer times (Fajr, Dzuhur, Asar, Maghrib, Isha'). Using sampling techniquePurposive Sampling, with the variables studied, namely the patient's knowledge, attitudes and behavior regarding prayer services when sick. Data collection usingquestionnaire and data analysis techniques usingChi Square.With a significance of 0.05.
The research results showed that 59 respondents (78.7%) had good knowledge, 43 respondents (57.33%) had a negative attitude, 48 respondents (64%) had a positive attitude. Results of statistical test data analysisChi Square obtained p-value = 0.013 which means smaller than α=0.05, it is interpreted that there is a relationship between knowledge and patient behavior withOdds ratio p value=1,061, andp-value 0.007, which means smaller than α=0.05, is interpreted as a relationship between patient attitudes and behavior and Odds ratio p value=4.136, in KH space. Mas Mansur RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo.
Nurses who accompany patients 24 hours a day are expected to provide nursing care not only regarding the patient's physical condition but also provide spiritual nursing care. And also RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo is expected to increase the Spiritual Guidance program for patients regarding prayer guidance by the Spiritual Development Section.
