Abstract

This thesis is prepared by Masun Khoirul Tamami (17221619) with the title 'The Role of Sahang Village Government in Ngebel Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency, in the Improvement of Original Ngebel Durian Commodities. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the village government in terms of management and maintenance to increase the original Ngebel durian commodity. Increasing durian commodities in Sahang Village is a strategic effort that involves the active role of the Sahang Village government. In order to find out clear problems the author uses descriptive kaulitative research methods. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate the importance of the role of the Sahang Village Government in developing the original Ngebel durian commodity cannot be ignored. Its role involves various aspects, ranging from the development of the agricultural sector to improving the welfare of the surrounding community. The Sahang Village Government can be a major force in advancing durian farming by providing technical support, delivering training to farmers, and implementing sustainable agricultural practices to improve durian productivity and quality. As an entrepreneur at the village level, the Sahang Village government successfully created new business opportunities in the durian farming sector by implementing a nursery program in 2021, producing around 1000 seedlings. Which then in 2024 will be distributed to farmers for planting. This will not only have a positive impact on the overall economy of the village, but will also empower the local population by increasing income and creating new job opportunities.
