Abstract

The most common complaint felt by Chronic Kidney Disease patients is
pain around the waist or lumbar area. Pain is felt in the waist and spreads towards
the inguinal (stomach) to the penis. One of the factors that trigger pain is caused
by the glomerular disease glomerulonephritis. The aim of this case study is to
determine nursing care for Chronic Kidney Disease patients with acute pain
problems.
Nursing care for Chronic Kidney Disease patients with acute pain is
carried out in the Mawar Room at Dr. RSUD. Harjono Ponorogo for 3 days in
May 2024. The method used is the nursing process.
The results of the study showed that Mr. M complained of pain around
the waist and a little tightness. The patient appears restless and moaning.
Therefore, deep breathing distraction technique intervention was carried out by
providing health education about deep breathing distraction techniques to reduce
pain in patients.
The results of the evaluation of nursing actions obtained from Mr. M with acute
pain, the problem was resolved because the patient's condition had begun to
improve. In accordance with the outcome criteria, namely decreased pain
complaints, decreased protective attitudes, decreased anxiety, decreased difficulty
sleeping.
