THE RELATIONSHIP OF LOW BIRTH WEIGHT (LBW) WITH THE INCIDENT OF STUNTING IN CHILDREN TODDLER AGES
(2-5 YEARS) IN JERUK HEALTH CENTER, BANDARK

Stunting is still a problem that has an impact on children's survival. Stunting is a condition in which a toddler has a height and weight that is not in accordance with their age and describes a chronic nutritional status during growth. One of the risk factors that influences the incidence of stunting in toddlers is babies with low birth weight. This study aims to determine the relationship between low birth weight (LBW) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers (2-5 years) at the Jeruk Health Center, Bandar District, Pacitan Regency.
Analytical research design with a retrospective approach. The population of all toddlers (2-5 years) with LBW at the Jeruk Health Center, Bandar District, Pacitan Regency, as many as 38 toddlers from 2021-2023. Sampling used Total Sampling. Data collection techniques used Maternal and Child Health books and demographic sheets using the Chi Square test with a significance of α = 0.05.
The results of the study showed that 22 respondents of LBW toddlers experienced stunting, with 3 respondents of LBW with Stunting and 19 respondents of LBW with Stunting. The p-value result = 0.015 which means that there is a relationship between low birth weight (LBW) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers (2-5 years) at the Jeruk Health Center, Bandar District, Pacitan Regency. Thus, parents who have toddlers aged 2-5 years can increase their activeness in coming to the Posyandu to find out about the growth and nutritional development of toddlers to avoid the incidence of stunting increasing again in toddlers.
