Abstract

At the time of writing this paper, the author had a problem formulation which was the main focus of this research, namely: First, to find out whether the main task of the main door security officers at the Lapas Pemuda Kelas IIA Madiun is in accordance with the regulations in Permenkumham Number 33 of 2015? Second, what are the obstacles in carrying out the duties of security officers at the main door at the Lapas Pemuda Kelas IIA Madiun? So starting from the problem formulation, this research has the following objectives, namely: First, to find out whether the main gate security officers at the Lapas Pemuda Kelas IIA Madiun have carried out their duties in accordance with the regulations in Permenkumham Number 33 of 2015, and Second, to find out whether there are any obstacles in carrying out duties for main gate security officers (P2U) at the Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Pemuda Kelas IIA Madiun.
To make this research a success, the author applies the method used in this research, namely using an empirical juridical type research method. Empirical juridical research is that in analyzing the problem that has been formulated, it is carried out by combining legal materials that apply to the case study. This research is carried out on actual conditions or in accordance with real conditions occurring in the field, which is expected to be able to know and discover the facts and whatever data is needed, after collecting the data and after weighing and evaluating the results of the data. So that conclusions can be drawn from the results that have been collected to be used or carried out for the next task.
The security system implemented by the main gate security (P2U) against the possibility of problems with order and security at the Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Pemuda Kelas IIA Madiun is relevant to the SOP in Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 33 of 2015 concerning the security system in prisons and detention centers. There are still visitors who pretend not to know what items are prohibited when they want to enter the prison area, there are a few visitors who, when asked for personal data such as an id card, do not show their real identity but rather a photocopy, there is a lack of personnel to assist security officers at the main door, especially when visits to inmates or prisoners who assist in carrying out inspections and searches of visitors' goods and bodies, etc. Therefore, a P2U officer in prison must have a good mentality, be brave and firm, especially in carrying out inspections and searches, especially by correctional officers themselves.
