Human Rights are the basic rights of every human being. Since a human being is in the womb, that human being has human rights which must be protected by the state. Human rights have also been recognized in the United Nations (UN) Charter which has been ratified by countries in the world.
In order to further ensure the promotion of human rights protection, apart from issuing government regulations, the government also issued a policy to prepare a National Human Rights Action Plan or often called RANHAM. The implementation of RANHAM is used as a guideline for preparing agendas and programs to respect, protect, promote, fulfill and enforce human rights in Indonesia in a planned and sustainable manner.
National implementation of RANHAM, both central and regional governments, is used as a reference for all parties, including ministries, institutions, and provincial and district/city governments in implementing human rights values in everyday life.
At the international level, Indonesia, which is a member of the United Nations (UN), has an obligation to implement various international human rights instruments and recommendations that have been agreed and ratified by countries in the world. Implementation of RANHAM is one of the Indonesian government's efforts to integrate human rights promotion programs into the national development agenda.
