To implement a legal system that is in accordance with statutory regulations, cooperation between policy makers and correctional officers is needed in order to create a good and law-abiding society. The role of correctional officers, especially the security department, is needed by institutions to minimize the risk of possible fraud or misuse by inmates. The role of Main Door Security Officers (P2U) is an important component as the front guard in implementing the main security system as the initial entry point for various interests in correctional institutions. Therefore, this research will discuss the Analysis of Correctional Functions in the Security Role for P2U based on Permenkumham No. 08 of 2024 in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo. The focus of the research discussed is (1) What is the role of P2U in the correctional function as a security agent in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo? and (2) What is the analysis of the correctional function in the P2U security role based on Permenkumham No. 08 of 2024 in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo?
This type of research uses normative-empirical legal research, located in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The informants used in the research were members of the Main Door Security Officer (P2U). Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of research analysis of the Correctional Function in the Security Role for P2U based on Permenkumham No.08 of 2024 in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo show that (1) The Security Role of P2U in the overall correctional function is quite good and needs to be improved in order to improve the quality of its performance (2) Analysis The correctional function in the P2U security role based on Permenkumham No. 08 of 2024 (Concerning the Implementation of Security and Order in Correctional Work Units) in Rutan Kelas IIB Ponorogo is quite good and in accordance with applicable law.
