Abstract

In carrying out their duties, the police do not use short and easy methods, such as force and violence, but are willing to listen and find out the cause of the problem. One way to bring the police closer to the community is to be responsible for their environment, and at any time they can be held accountable. Inviting to goodness there will definitely be obstacles that prevent the invitation from going well. If in the past, various methods or methods were used to spread religion, then the Ponorogo Police also had its own methods or methods. So it becomes a historical study of the role of the police as preachers in carrying out the Binmas function at the Ponorogo Police. This is in line with what is contained in the police code of ethics, as law enforcement officers, they should be able to carry out regulations and be protectors, protectors and also serve the community. Research on the role of the police as preachers (implementing the Binmas function at the Ponorogo Police Station), uses qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The role of the police in implementing the function of the community development unit at the Ponorogo Police is directing, supervising community activities so that the applicable laws and regulations work well and function effectively, regulating and ordering the community in the context of maintaining security and public order, implementing the functions of the community development unit at the Police. Ponorogo is realized in the form of community participation in order to assist community services in police duties, and police activities as preachers inside and outside Ponorogo Police are carried out in Friday prayer sermons, religious activities during Islamic holiday celebrations, as well as in form of religious study activities.
