APPLICATION OF CHEST PHYSIOTHERAPY IN BRONCHOPNEUMONIA PATIENTS WITH INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE NURSING PROBLEMS IN THE PEDIATRIC ROOM

Bronchoneumonia is one of the biggest contributors to death in children. The purpose of this study was to provide nursing care with chest physiotherapy in patients with Bronchoneumonia with ineffective airway clearance nursing problems.
The method used is descriptive in the form of a case study. With 1 respondent Bronchopneumonia patient with ineffective airway clearance nursing problems. This research was conducted at Amal Sehat Wonogiri Hospital for 5 days.
The results of the assessment of the patient said he was coughing, the family said that the patient was coughing and had a fever. The results of the examination of RR 20x/min, N 138x/min, S 36.8oC, SpO2 98%, the patient appeared to be coughing, on lung examination there were additional ronchi sounds in the right and left anterior and posterior lobes. The nursing diagnosis that arises is ineffective airway clearance associated with the accumulation of secretions in the bronchi. Interventions in accordance with SIKI are airway management and nonpharmacological therapy with chest physiotherapy. Implementation was carried out for 5 days with a duration of 15 minutes and carried out 3 times a day. Evaluation after day 5, the patient said he coughed rarely, the family said a lot of sputum came out, thick white color, effective cough increased, the patient seemed to cough rarely, the patient could perform effective cough techniques as directed, sputum production decreased enough, sputum came out a lot of thick white color, there was no additional ronchi breath sound, breathing pattern was good RR 21x/min. This chest physiotherapy can reduce respiratory rate, can improve ventilation and lung function so that it is easy to remove sputum so that sputum does not accumulate. Chest physiotherapy can be an independent nurse therapy that can be combined to overcome the problem of ineffective airway clearance in patients with bronchopneumonia.
