This research to analyze the planning of the pedestrian area development program on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Ponorogo Regency. Pedestrian areas are one of the local government's efforts to improve the quality of life of the community by
creating safe, comfortable and pedestrian-friendly public spaces. In this research, the method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, field observations and documentation studies. The research results show that the planning of the pedestrian area development program in Urip Sumoharjo has experienced several obstacles, both in terms of infrastructure, community involvement, and coordination between related parties. However, there have also been a number of successes, such as increased comfort and safety for pedestrians, as well as positive support from some road
users. The key factors influencing the success of development planning are community involvement in the planning and monitoring process, as well as the active role of local governments in allocating sufficient budgets and resources. This research provides recommendations for the Ponorogo Regency government to improve coordination between related agencies, improve the quality of pedestrian infrastructure, and involve the community more intensively in the process of monitoring and maintaining pedestrian areas. In this way, pedestrian area policies can be more optimal in supporting environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility in Ponorogo Regency.
