EMERGENCY NURSING CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (AMI) WITH ACUTE PAIN NURSING PROBLEMS AT DR. HARJONO HOSPITAL, PONOROGO DISTRICT

Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of the most common manifestations of cardiovascular disease and remains a leading cause of death worldwide. AMI, commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow to the heart muscle is obstructed, resulting in myocardial cell death. Chest pain is one of the most frequently reported symptoms in patients with AMI.
This study aims to analyze the nursing care outcomes related to acute pain in a patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction at Dr. Harjono Regional General Hospital, Ponorogo Regency.
The study used a qualitative descriptive case study design with a documentation study approach. The research subject was a patient treated in the Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) with the nursing diagnosis of acute pain. Data collection methods included interviews, observation, and documentation. The nursing care was provided over three consecutive days, from May 10 to May 12, 2025.
The results indicated that the patient experienced acute pain related to physiological injury agents. After three days of nursing intervention, the problem was partially resolved, as evidenced by improvement in all five outcome indicators: decreased pain, reduced grimacing, moaning, restlessness, and avoidance behaviors
