Abstract
ABSTRACT
Researchers hope to identify various strategies implemented by the Ponorogo Tourism Office in managing the Instagram content of the event @grebegsuroponorogo in Ponorogo Regency. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies applied by the tourism office in managing the Instagram content of the @grebegsuroponorogo event. By understanding the strategies used, new insights are expected to be gained regarding social media in promoting local culture and building a positive regional image. Based on the explanation above, this research will focus on the aspects of managing the Instagram event @grebegsuroponorogo in Ponorogo Regency, which will be examined through the social media platform Instagram managed by the tourism office. This study will investigate how this management occurs and what communication strategies have been applied over the years on that Instagram platform. The communication strategy implemented by the Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office of Ponorogo Regency in promoting the Grebeg Suro 2025 event is designed in a structured, planned manner, based on a deep understanding of the audience. This strategy not only sets clear objectives, such as increasing cultural awareness and attracting public participation but also includes audience mapping into several key segments: local communities, youth, domestic tourists, and cultural communities. The promotion of the Grebeg Suro 2025 event is carried out through a multi-channel communication approach that combines conventional and digital media, with a primary emphasis on using social media as a means of disseminating information and enhancing community engagement. Through the official account @grebegsuroponorogo, the Culture Office actively uploads digital content such as teaser videos, infographics, and cultural narratives presented in contemporary visual styles. Social media is not only used to convey information but is also utilized as a space for two-way interaction, allowing the community to respond, ask questions, and even participate in digital campaigns. This strategy has proven effective in building engagement, creating a sense of ownership towards the Grebeg Suro event, and expanding promotional reach to the youth who are highly active in the digital space.
