Abstract

Nanda Putri Agustina. Instilling Religious Character in Early Childhood through the Habitual Practice of Dhuha Prayer at TK Negeri Pembina Ponorogo. Undergraduate Thesis, Early Childhood Teacher Education Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Supervisor I: Dian Kristiana, M.Pd Supervisor II: Nurtina Irsad Rusdiani, M.Pd.
Instilling religious character in children is important to be implemented from an early age, one of which is through the habitual practice of Dhuha prayer. Through this habituation, the formation of religious character will grow and be carried into the child's life in the future. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at TK Negeri Pembina Ponorogo. The primary data sources in this study were the extracurricular teacher and the school principal, while supporting data were obtained from documents. Data collection techniques used in this research included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed was Miles and Huberman’s model, which includes data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through data triangulation techniques.
The results of this study show that the Dhuha prayer habituation has been running well, as evidenced by the children routinely performing the Dhuha prayer activities without being prompted by the teacher. The children were enthusiastic and eager to participate in this activity. The values of religious character from this habituation have also become evident, indicating that the instilling of religious character has begun to take shape. Although some of the children have not yet perfected the movements, in general, they show earnestness in following each step. The religious character values that are formed include: love for Allah, prayer habituation, gratitude and supplication, as well as discipline and a sense of responsibility.
