Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARTICIPATION IN PROLANIS AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PROLANIS PARTICIPANTS (PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES MELLITUS) IN THE WORKING AREA OF UPTD PUSKESMAS REJOMULYO, MAGETAN REGENCY
By: Rosita Fitriana Dewi
The Chronic Disease Management Program (PROLANIS) is a promotional and preventive effort aimed at individuals with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus, with the goal of improving their quality of life. High participation from PROLANIS members is expected to contribute positively to the improved quality of life of those with chronic illnesses. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between active participation in PROLANIS and the quality of life of its members (patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus) in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Rejomulyo, Magetan Regency.
This research used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 35 respondents who were active PROLANIS members, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and then analyzed using Fisher's Exact Test.
Based on the research findings, out of 35 total respondents, 26 people (74.3%) showed high activity in participating in PROLANIS activities, and the same number (74.3%) also had a good quality of life. The analysis using Fisher's Exact Test yielded a significance value of p<0.001, which indicates a significant relationship between PROLANIS implementation and the quality of life of its participants.
This study concludes that there is a significant relationship between active participation in PROLANIS and the quality of life of its members. Therefore, increasing participation in PROLANIS is expected to continue to support the improvement of the quality of life for individuals with chronic diseases.
