Abstract
Selecting a thesis supervisor is a critical process for students to ensure guidance aligned with their research topic and academic needs. However, the lack of comprehensive information about lecturers' qualifications often poses a challenge. This study aims to develop a web-based thesis supervisor recommendation system by implementing the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) algorithm to improve student-lecturer compatibility. The evaluation criteria include communication quality (54.4%), lecturer expertise (20%), time availability (14.6%), and educational background (11%). The system was developed using PHP and MySQL with a prototype method to ensure user requirements fulfillment. Test results demonstrate AHP's effectiveness in providing objective recommendations, with the top-ranked lecturer achieving a score of 4.346 based on criterion weights. This system is expected to simplify supervisor selection, enhance mentoring efficiency, and reduce mismatches. The study is limited to the Informatics Engineering Department at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, with recommendations for future development such as academic data integration and feedback features.
