Abstract

Developing disciplinary habits in children is a vital aspect of education. Extracurricular
activities significantly influence students' school lives. Hizbul Wathan (HW), an
extraacurricular at SD Muhammadiyah Mlarak Inovatif, centers on cultivating noble
character. This program not only enhances students' physical growth but also teaches
morality and discipline. This research aims to determine how the Hizbul Wathan (HW)
extracurricular impacts the disciplinary character of students at SD Muhammadiyah
Inovatif Mlarak. Additionally, it explores the tactics used in these out-of-class activities
and their effect on student behavior. A case study and qualitative method were
employed. To gain deeper insights, comprehensive interviews were also conducted
with extracurricular organizers and students. Survey results indicate that most
students (87%) are disciplined during HW activities and feel more disciplined after
participating; furthermore, 93.8 percent reported that HW activities teach neatness
and help them understand punctuality. Active student participation in these activities
fosters closer relationships and unity. Such active involvement is a key component in
shaping disciplinary character. At SD Muhammadiyah Inovatif Mlarak, the Hizbul
Wathan (HW) extracurricular is recognized as crucial for developing students'
disciplinary character.
