Abstract

This study aims to describe the moral values contained in the film "Merindu Cahaya de Amstel" and analyze their relevance to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. This film was chosen because it contains a strong moral message and Islamic values. Many problems of moral imbalance arise from a lack of understanding of the meaning of the moral values that should be taught to students in schools.
According to Ahmad Dahlan, the concept of moral education is the formation of good character, derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Ahmad Dahlan also implemented innovations in Islamic education by combining traditional Islamic boarding school learning methods with modern educational systems.
This study aims to explore the moral values contained in the film "Merindu Cahaya de Amstel" and analyze their relationship to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis techniques. Information was obtained through observation of moments and conversations in the film, supported by relevant literature research on moral education and Islamic education.
Research findings reveal that this film contains various positive moral values, including honesty, patience, responsibility, love, humility, and a passion for seeking the truth. These values reflect the principles of Islamic education and can be used as a reference in strengthening students' character. Therefore, this film has the potential to be an alternative educational tool that supports the achievement of comprehensive and contextual goals of Islamic education.
