RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY SUPPORT AND ANXIETY LEVEL IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

This study aims to investigate the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Inpatient Room of Griya Husada Madiun Hospital. Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that can trigger anxiety due to its physical and psychological impacts. The research method used was correlation analytic with a cross-sectional design, involving 68 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring family support and anxiety levels. The results showed that 88.2% of respondents received good family support, and 77.9% did not experience anxiety. Chi-Square analysis showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between family support and anxiety levels. These findings indicate that good family support plays an important role in reducing anxiety in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, so it is important for health institutions to involve families in patient care.
