Abstract

Head injuries are a medical condition that is often found in emergency departments and is at risk of causing serious complications, one of which is ineffective cerebral perfusion due to impaired blood circulation to the brain. This case study aims to evaluate nursing care in patients with head injuries with nursing problems at the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in the emergency room of Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital.
The research method uses a case study approach with stages of the nursing process which include: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Subjects in this study were 67-year-old male patients with mild head injuries with GCS 15 and high blood pressure. The interventions provided included 30° head-up position therapy, oxygen administration, monitoring vital signs and neurological status, and collaborative drug administration. The results of the evaluation showed that there was an improvement in the patient's condition characterized by a decrease in dizziness symptoms, blood pressure stabilization, and increased awareness.
The conclusions of this case study suggest that a 30° head-up position intervention in nursing care effectively helps improve cerebral perfusion and prevent advanced complications. This intervention can be used as a reference in the initial treatment of patients with head injuries with the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion.
