Abstract

The Semester Learning Plan (RPS) is an academic document that requires integrity assurance to prevent data modification after the approval process. This research aims to implement a digital signature mechanism using the SHA-256 algorithm in the Academic Information System (SIMAK) of the Engineering Faculty at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo to maintain the integrity of RPS documents. The system generates an RPS data snapshot, applies the JSON Canonicalization Scheme (JCS) in accordance with RFC 8785, and then generates a signature_hash value as a representation of document integrity. This value is stored in a digital signature registry and used as a verification identifier through a QR Code embedded in the PDF document. The implementation results demonstrate that the system successfully performs validation prior to approval, generates a consistent signature_hash, and distinguishes between valid documents, documents that have been modified, and documents with unregistered signature_hash values in the digital signature registry. Therefore, the system is capable of improving the integrity of RPS documents and providing an accessible mechanism for verifying document authenticity through a QR Code.
