Abstract

Octaviani Hidayah: The Development of SIP3D Learning Media on Prism Solids. Undergraduate Thesis. Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo. Advisor I: Drs. Jumadi, M. Pd. Advisor II: Dwi Avita Nurhidayah, M. Pd.
Geometric thinking ability is one of the abilities that needs to be developed in mathematics learning. Therefore, learning media are needed to facilitate students in developing this ability. This study aims to develop Simple Interactive Practical 3 Dimensions (SIP3D) learning media on the topic of prism solids and to determine the feasibility of the media based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspects.
This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this research consisted of 13 ninth-grade junior high school students. Data collection techniques used validation sheets from media experts and material experts, practicality questionnaires for teachers and students, and geometric thinking ability tests. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis and classical learning completeness.
The results showed that the SIP3D learning media was successfully developed using the ADDIE model with Scratch software and packaged as a web-based interactive adventure. The SIP3D learning media is equipped with three-dimensional geometric object visualizations, interactive animations and simulations, exploratory activities accompanied by guiding questions, and gradual presentation of the material to facilitate the development of students' geometric thinking ability at the recognition, analysis, and abstraction levels. The validation results showed that the SIP3D learning media obtained validity percentages of 97.2% from the media expert and 83.3% from the material expert, categorized as very valid. The practicality test results obtained percentages of 94.4% from the teacher and 83.5% from the students, categorized as very practical. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test showed a classical learning mastery percentage of 84.6%. Therefore, the SIP3D learning media was considered very valid, very practical, and effective, making it suitable for facilitating the development of students' geometric thinking ability in prism solids.
