This study aims to explain how the reading focus program is implemented and how it impacts the fluent reading ability of grade 1 students at SD Negeri 2 Serangan Ponorogo. This research uses a qualitative approach and uses a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study are school principals, first-grade teachers and first-grade students. The method of data collection is by observing, interviewing and recording various documents. Comparing different sources and methods is used to test the correctness of the data. The process of data analysis by processing, grouping and understanding data systematically. The Focus Reading program begins with a reading activity for 15 minutes before the lesson starts every morning. By showing improvements in accuracy, intonation, fluency and reading speed, the program has the potential to improve students' reading abilities. In addition, students' interest in reading activities increases, their ability to focus, and their confidence in doing the activity increases. The success of the program depends on teachers acting as mentors, assistance from the principal and collaboration with parents. Thus, this program can be one of the strategic steps to improve students' reading skills and encourage the growth of literacy culture in the early classes of elementary school.
