Impaired physical mobility is a limitation in a person's ability to move
independently due to musculoskeletal system disorders or post-operative
conditions. In fracture patients, this condition is often caused by pain, edema, and
tissue damage, resulting in reduced muscle strength and limited range of motion.
The objective of this case study was to provide nursing care to a post-
operative fracture patient experiencing impaired physical mobility. A case study
method utilizing the nursing process—comprising assessment, diagnosis,
intervention, implementation, and evaluation—was employed. Nursing care was
administered at RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo over a three-day period, from
May 7 to May 9, 2026. Data were collected through interviews, observation,
physical examinations, and documentation.
Assessment results indicated that the patient experienced pain, difficulty
moving the right leg, reduced muscle strength, and limited range of motion.
Interventions focused on mobilization support through range-of-motion (ROM)
exercises and activity assistance tailored to the patient's tolerance. After three
days, the patient's mobility improved, evidenced by increased muscle strength and
range of motion, as well as reduced pain and joint stiffness. Nursing care
incorporating mobilization support helps improve physical mobility in post-
operative fracture patients.
