This study aims to analyze the Implementation of Green Banking in the Sharia People's Financing Bank (BPRS) Mitra Mentari Sejahtera Ponorogo, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate the optimization of Green Banking in line with Sharia principles. This research was carried out because the Ponorogo city area is the center of community activities, which makes environmental conservation an important priority in the midst of the expansion of high-rise buildings and highway infrastructure that has the potential to cause flooding. This research was carried out using a descriptive qualitative method by involving in-depth interviews with the Head of the Marketing Division related to the Green Banking program and the Head of the Sharia Compliance/Risk Management Section, to assess compliance with Sharia principles and POJK 7/2024. The results of the research of financial institutions in Ponorogo, especially Islamic financial institutions such as BPRS Mitra Mentari Sejahtera Ponorogo, contribute through various applications of Green Banking, including the Paperless program, Carbon Emission reduction, optimization of energy use, Green Building development, and sustainable financing in the agricultural sector. Despite being faced with internal-external support and constraints, BPRS implements mitigation mechanisms to ensure its effectiveness in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 7 of 2024 and in accordance with Sharia principles. The results of the research are expected to be able to strengthen the optimization of environmentally friendly initiatives at BPRS Mitra Mentari Sejahtera Ponorogo, especially Green Reward, Green Investment, and the application of the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle) which has not been fully realized.
