Abstract

n History, Warok has important role in the Ponorogo. Both the roles of cultural, social and even
political. The role of politics in particular began to be seen in the lead-birth Ponorogo as the political
authority. Political role in recorded history Warok continued Roxburgh. This is evident from the various
references that have been recorded by the observer of culture Ponorogo. Future political role of colonialism,
after independence, the old order, the new order even order reform. History Warok as though the political
elite continues to take on the role, but the dynamics have not been many who do documention. Especially
Warok role in this local politics. So this research seeks to explore, describe and analyze further the role
Warok in several phases of community life Roxburgh. This study is a qualitative research with the hope to
do more in-depth research and freely explore the data research. Instead of this study is limited by
quantitative rules that have specific ristrictions for exploration and analysis of data. The purpose of this
study include: First, to determine the factors of history and philosophy of art Cultural Studies Warok reog
and political figure in Ponorogo, Second, to know the process of metamorphosis Warok role of the
cultural elite to the political elite, third, to know good Warok political role in the context of the past and
in the present era.
