ABSTRACT

News about cases of rape, torture of women, abuse of women and prostitution in Indonesia is endless. This study aims as follows to analyze the position of the writer and reader as well as the position of the subject and object in the case of death and sexual harassment in Novia Widyasari on online media Utaratimes.com and Suarasurakarta.id. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. Sampling was taken from the subject and object of research, data sources on the content of news texts and interviews with the Sara Mills Discourse Analysis method. From the position of the object in the news by Northtimes.com, it is the victim of NW as the object, while Suarasurakarta.id is the perpetrator of Bripda R. From the writer's perspective, Utaratimes.com corners women. Meanwhile, Suarasurakarta protects women. The reader's position on the Utaratimes.com media feels sorry for him, but on the Suarasurakarta media, the reader feels that women are protected. The research data is used as a research on how women are displayed in a mass media news.
