Abstract

For a child who has just graduated from junior high school and wants to continue his education to the high school level, it will be difficult to determine which major to take in the future. The determination of the majors is carried out at the end of the second semester of class X. The majors at the school level are Natural Sciences (IPA), Social Sciences (IPS), and Languages majors. The decision to determine student majors is taken by the school by considering several criteria. The determination of majors aims to help students focus more on developing their abilities. Based on the results of observations made at SMAN 1 Bungkal, it is known that the majority of students only follow their friends in choosing majors. This makes some teachers worry if students take the wrong major, which will make it difficult for them to develop the abilities they already have. Therefore, in this study, one of the goals is to create a web-based majoring application by implementing a Decision Making System Using the Simple Additive Weighting Method
