Abstract

This research uses a qualitative type approach and presents data in a descriptive way in the form of text explanations. The data processing in this thesis was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The purpose of this study is to describe the cyber media patrol strategy implemented by the Public Relations of Ponorogo Police and to find out the implementation of the Public Relations of Ponorogo Police in increasing the digital literacy of the community regarding the use of social media so as not to be caught in the ITE Law. The results showed that Ponorogo Police Public Relations has many ways to carry out cyber patrol strategies such as monitoring social media targeting WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Patrols are carried out 1x34 hours because it prevents the potential use of accounts that spread hoax, vulnerable, or provocative information. The creation of informative and educative image content is also a form of digital literacy socialization to the community by utilizing social media. In addition, the Ponorogo Police Public Relations also established a partnership relationship with Diskominfo Ponorogo and the Public Relations of the Ponorogo Regency Government in the context of implementing patrols as well as socializing digital literacy for the people of Ponorogo.
