Abstract

Welding is a process of joining two or more metal parts using heat energy. Dissimilar metal welding is a development of modern welding technology due to the need for joining materials that have different metal types. In this research, tensile and microstructure tests were carried out on the welding joints of two different materials with varying welding currents of 70A and 80A. The connection results were tested for tensile strength and observed changes in the micron structure. From the results of the 70A tensile test, the voltage value was 442.06 MPa, the strain value was 0.1475, and at 80A, the tension value was 447.2 MPa, the strain value was 0.1525. Thus it can be concluded that changes in welding current have an effect on penetration which causes the metallurgical bond of the welded joint to become stronger.
