Abstract

Uncontrolled use of gadgets can hurt health, such as disrupting sleep quality in a person. Poor sleep quality can cause various physiological and psychological disorders. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Gadget Addiction and Sleep Quality in Undergraduate Nursing Students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. This study used a cross-sectional design. There are 2 variables studied, namely gadget addiction and sleep quality. The population in this study was 571 undergraduate nursing students with a sample of 58 undergraduate nursing students who were measured in one measurement using a questionnaire measuring instrument. Data analysis with chi-square test. The results of the study using the Chi-Square test show that the value of ρ value = 0.000 when compared to α = 0.05 then Pearson Chi-Square, ρ value (0.000) < α (0.05), then H0 is rejected meaning there is a relationship between addiction Gadget with Sleep Quality for Undergraduate Nursing Students, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. It is hoped that students can improve the excessive use of gadgets by limiting the use of gadgets at night and stopping using gadgets 30 minutes before going to bed so that the eyes are not exposed to the radiation light emitted from the gadget so that sleep can be of a higher quality.
