Abstract

In the current era of globalization and technological developments, online media plays an important role in the success and achievement of predetermined political goals. As a means of communication, the media, especially online media, is the most effective means of influencing, persuading and even forming opinions on news content presented to the public through writing. This study uses a qualitative method that is descriptive. The news between Antara.com and Detik.com revealed the background to the problem with the planned construction of the giant Reog monument in Ponorogo. The purpose of this study was to find out the framing displayed by online media and the choice of topics presented by Antara.com and Detik.com as well as their visibility and reality aspects. Regarding the news about the planned construction of the giant Reog monument in Ponorogo using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis technique as follows. Antara.com selected an issue regarding the Ponorogo Regency Government planning to build a giant Reog Ponorogo monument by spending Rp 84 billion. While highlighting the reality aspect of the tender process for the Reog Ponorogo monument development project. Meanwhile, Detik.com selected issues regarding the construction process of the Reog monument which spent Rp 85 billion and will be built in Ponorogo next year. However, it can be seen in the writing of the Detik.com news in the framing that there is a difference in the mention of the nominal used for budget projections by the sources. In writing the news, there were sources who said that the budget funds spent were Rp. 84 billion, and other sources said that it was Rp. 85 billion. Meanwhile, the protruding aspect of reality concerns other supporting facilities that will be built under the podium of the Reog Ponorogo monument in the form of a museum and tourist attractions such as a glamping area and an educational center for limestone processing.
