Abstract
ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THERAPEUTIC COMMUNICATION AND PATIENT SATISFACTION LEVEL Descriptive Correlational Research in Emergency Room RSAU dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjudi By : Siti Zulaikhah Nurses in the emergency room are required to do fast and precise work and convey information clearly and in detail so that patients and families are able to understand the procedures to be carried out. Therapeutic communication is one way to provide accurate information and build a trusting relationship with patients so that patients will feel satisfied with the service. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between therapeutic communication and the level of patient satisfaction in the emergency room of RSAU dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjudi. This study uses correlational research with a cross sectional approach. The study population was patients who visited the emergency room of RSAU Dr. Efram Harsana who met the researcher's criteria with a sample size of 104 respondents. Sampling using purposive sampling method, data collection using questionnaires, and data analysis using Spearman Rank statistical test with α = 0.05. From the results of research on therapeutic communication, most of the 59 (56.7%) respondents categorized therapeutic communication as good and in patient satisfaction research most of the 54 (51.9%) respondents gave a high patient satisfaction assessment. The results showed a p value of 0.004 with a correlation coefficient of 0.302, then the p value < α, so Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between nurse therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction in the emergency room of RSAU dr. Efram Harsana with low relationship strength. Regular training and seminars on therapeutic communication need to be given regularly to improve the ability of nurses to communicate and provide nursing care so as to increase the satisfaction of patients visiting the hospital, especially the emergency room.
