Abstract

"ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITIES IN FORMING THE IMAGE OF PONOROGO'S REGENT SUGIRI SANCOKO (A Study on the Instagram Account @sugirisancoko26 Edition November 2023 – January 2024) This research analyzes social media activities in shaping the image of Ponorogo's Regent Sugiri Sancoko, with a focus on the Instagram account @sugirisancoko26. Through a qualitative approach, this study explores the types of content posted, posting frequency, interactions with followers, and responses to feedback. Data collection methods involve content analysis of Instagram account posts and observation of interactions. This study utilizes Frank Jefkins' Image Formation theory, which consists of The Mirror Image, The Current Image, The Wish Image, The Corporate Image, and The Multiple Image, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the formation of the image of the Regent of Ponorogo through the Instagram account @sugirisancoko26. The results show that Regent Sugiri Sancoko is actively involved in managing the account, emphasizing direct engagement with the community, promoting government programs and achievements, as well as transparency and responsiveness in communication. These social media activities successfully foster closer connections between the Regent and the community, supporting an image of leadership that is open and caring towards the needs of the residents. The implications of this research underscore the importance of utilizing social media as an effective communication tool to strengthen community support and enhance engagement in regional development.
