Abstract

ABSTRACT NURSING CARE IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS WITH NON-COMPLIANCE WITH MEDICATION (Case study in Room Mawar RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Th. 2024) By : Rizky Nurcahyani ID 21613407 Non-compliance is the behavior of individuals not following the care/treatment plan agreed upon with health workers resulting in ineffective care/treatment results. Nursing care for diabetes mellitus patients with non-compliance with medication is carried out in Room Mawar RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo for 3 days in April 2024. The method used was the nursing process. The results of the study showedthat Mrs. S suffered from diabetes mellitus since 7 month ago. To Mrs. S data was found that clients experienced non-compliance with medication. Nursing action taken include identifying compliance with the medication program, making a commitment to undergoing the medication program well, involving the family to support the medication program being undertaken, informing the family of the medication program that must be undertaken, informing the benefits that will be obtained if they regularly undergo the medication program, encouraging the family to accompany and care for patients during their medication program. The results of the evaluation of nursing actions obtained from Mrs. S with non-compliance by supporting compliance with the medication program so that the problem is resolved because the patient’s condition has begun to improve. It is recommended for patients to be able to adjust their diet according to the diet they are following, routinely comply with the medication program they are undergoing, and provide health education.
