Abstract

Competitive Advantage as a Mediating Variable on the Effect of Market Orientation and Entrepreneurial Orientation on Business Performance (Case Study on Micro and Small Enterprises in Ponorogo) This study aims to determine whether Market Orientation, Entrepreneurial Orientation, Competitive Advantage affect the Business Performance of Micro and Small Enterprises in Ponorogo. The method used in this research is a quantitative method using primary data by distributing questionnaires to 150 micro and small business actors in Ponorogo and secondary data from published articles in journals, theory books according to several expert opinions and the internet. The sampling method uses the Hair et al formula. Sampling is done by Non-probability Sampling with Accidental sampling technique. The results of the study prove that: 1. Market Orientation Variables (X1) have a significant positive effect on Competitive Advantage (Y1). 2. Market Orientation Variable (X1) has a significant positive effect on Business Performance (Y2). 3. Entrepreneurial Orientation (X2) has a significant positive effect on Competitive Advantage (Y1). 4. Entrepreneurial Orientation (X2) has a significant positive effect on Business Performance (Y2). 5. Competitive Advantage (Y1) has no significant effect on Business Performance (Y2). Competitive Advantage (Y1) cannot mediate the effect of Market Orientation (X1) on Business Performance (Y2), Competitive Advantage (Y1) cannot mediate the effect of Entrepreneurial Orientation (X2).
