Abstract
The Relationship Between Balance and The Risk Fall in the Elderly at the Elderly Posyandu in Bringin Village By: Dian Tri Hastuti Physiological decline, including balance disorders, is common among the elderly, affecting 50% of older adults. Such balance disorders increase the risk of falls by up to three times. Falls are the second leading cause of death worldwide and the primary cause of injury-related mortality in the elderly. This study aims to determine the relationship between balance and fall risk in elderly individuals attending the posyandu lansia in bringin village. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational design to identify and determine the relationship between variables using a cross-sectional approach and total sampling technique. The population in this study consisted of 37 elderly respondents aged 65 and over who participated in the elderly posyandu in Bringin village. The analysis used in this study was the Spearman test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The study results showed a significant relationship between balance and fall risk in the elderly at the elderly posyandu in Bringin village, with a p-value = 0.000. It can be concluded that balance disorders are one of the causes of fall risk in the elderly. The researchers recommend that the elderly increase their physical activity to reduce the occurrence of balance disorders, thereby minimizing the risk of falling.
