Abstract
Online media that prioritize speed in conveying information often make mistakes, which of course affect the meaning and quality of news. Because online media only cares about speed so that meeting the audience's needs for information does not provide good. Credibility is an important component of a mass media industry, but sometimes journalists often forget about it in pursuit of actuality. The speed put forward by online media journalists is often the main cause of the exclusion of credibility of the content of the news. This raises problems and triggers questions about the credibility and quality of information in online media, especially those in Indonesia, which are currently increasing. This type of research is field research with a quantitative approach. Quantitative research emphasizes objective phenomena and is studied quantitatively. The maximization of the objectivity of the design of this study was carried out using figures, statistical processing, structure and controlled experiments. Quantitative research is carried out by collecting data in the form of numbers, or data in the form of words or sentences that are converted into data in the form of numbers. Salwen, Garrison, and Driscoll (2005) conducted a study of media credibility in America in 2002 aimed at looking at the primary components of credibility in online news. Reliable news includes the dimensions of trustworthiness, believability, accuracy, report the whole story, balance, and fairness. Contemporary in the news that includes dimensions of currency, up to date, and timeliness. Unbiased in news that includes dimensions of bias, and objectives. Keywords: Credibility, Information, Online media
