Abstract
AYU NISFATU RAHMA: The Effect of Independent Curriculum PAI Teaching Modules on Increasing Understanding and Learning Motivation of Elementary School Students in Madiun City. Thesis proposal. Ponorogo: Postgraduate Program, Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo, 2024. The background to the problem in this research is that weakening motivation or no motivation to learn will increase learning activities which will affect quality, learning outcomes will be low and teachers need to be creative in designing learning by designing open modules. This research aims: 1) to determine the effect of independent curriculum-based PAI teaching modules on increasing elementary school students' understanding, 2) to determine the influence of independent curriculum-based PAI teaching modules on students' learning motivation. The research method used is quantitative which is based on the philosophy of positivism, namely looking at reality/symptoms/phenomena. This research was conducted in Madiun City at 4 public elementary schools, from January 2023-July 2023, the sample was grade 4 students, the sample size was determined using Slovin's theory and resulted in 112 students using proportional random sampling. The questionnaire was developed in 3 indicators for each variable reduced to 18 statements. The results of the research show that there is an influence between the PAI teaching module of the independent curriculum on increasing the understanding and learning motivation of state elementary school students in the city of Madiun with the results of the questionnaire validity test being declared valid as a whole with a minimum number of 0.546 for variable X and 0.544 for variable Y2 > from the table value of 0.195 , while the normality figures obtained were 0.052 (X) and 0.058 (Y2) >000, the reliability of each variable was high with variable figures X 0.758 and Y2 0.800. There is a strong influence between teaching modules on increasing understanding with a correlation figure of 0.425 and teaching modules on learning motivation with a correlation figure of 0.702.
