Abstract

The application of Linguistic Landscape is also part of the development of P5 activities because the media need not be in the classroom. Teachers have the ability to adjust and select learning resources based on the needs of their students. Thus, the linguistic landscape (LL) is not confined to the classroom; rather, it also functions as a tool to help students improve their retention and comprehension of the material they study there. The existence of Linguistics Landscape gives students freedom to learn what they want, in and out of the classroom. This study aims to capture and understand many linguistics landscapes that are employed, the purpose behind the installation of signs, and the influence of the existence of linguistics landscape in the learning of the Merdeka Curriculum at senior high schools in Ponorogo. The researcher used a qualitative research design especially descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation, interview and documentation. The research was conducted in 10 (ten) senior high schools in Ponorogo and the subjects of this research were teachers in these schools. Based on the research results, the most frequently encountered types of Linguistics Landscape are top-down types and informational functions. The majority said that the purpose of installing signs (LL) in the school itself, in addition to providing information, motivation, and warnings for character building and student awareness, can also be used as a student learning resource. The existence of a linguistic landscape is influential because it emphasizes the development of student character. In conclusion, the existence of Linguistics Landscape supports learning in the Merdeka curriculum in terms of learning resources and motivation for student character development.
