Abstract
APPLICATION OF WARM COMPRESSES IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS WITH ACUTE PAIN NURSING PROBLEMS In the Aster Room at RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo By: Vanesya Isnaya Muslimah The pain that appears in hypertension sufferers is usually felt in the nape and head. Structural changes in blood flow cause blockages in blood vessels, resulting in reduced oxygen distribution to the brain, as a result the blood vessel walls press on the nerve fibers of the neck muscles, resulting in pain in the nape and head. This study aims to provide nursing care for hypertensive clients with acute pain nursing problems in the Aster Room at Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital. The method used is a descriptive method with a nursing process approach for hypertensive patients with acute pain nursing problems by providing nursing care which includes assessment, formulation of diagnosis, intervention planning, implementation and nursing evaluation. The nursing care process was carried out for 6 days from May 21 to May 26 2024. The intervention provided was the application of warm compresses to reduce pain in hypertensive patients. The application of warm compresses lasts for 5 days and is done once a day. From the nursing process, the results obtained were that after applying warm compresses for 5 days, the pain felt by hypertensive patients gradually decreased. This can be seen from subjective data such as clients saying the pain has reduced/improved, the pain scale is 1, appetite has improved and sleep patterns. improved. Nursing care for hypertensive clients with acute pain nursing problems is expected to be an illustration for hypertensive sufferers, especially those with acute pain, so that they can apply warm compresses independently when the pain arises.
