Ayuning Tyas, Tety. 2013. Improving the Students’ Writing Skill Through Learning Cell Method at Eight Grade Students of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in Academic Year of 2013/2014. Thesis. Key Words: Writing skill, Learning Cell Method The researcher got some problems in the teaching writing skill at MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro such as the students’ score in writing is low, especially recount text. The teaching and learning process of writing makes the students bored because they have difficulty at organize their own ideas, they doing the task individually and less interaction between each students. The statement of problems of this research are: 1) Does Learning Cell method improve students’ writing skill at eight grade students of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the academic year of 2013/2014; and 2) How does Learning Cell improve students’ writing skill at eight grade students of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the academic year of 2013/2014. The purposes of the study of this research are: 1) To know whether Learning Cell method improve students’ writing skill at eight grade students of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the academic year of 2013/2014; 2) To know how to improve writing skill through Learning Cell at eight grade students of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro the in academic year of 2013/2014. The subject of this research was the students of the eighth grade class of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the academic year of 2013/2014, which consisted of 16 students. The research was started on August, 30 2013 until September, 7 2013. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles. The researcher used three research instruments. They are: observation check list, questionnaire, and test. Based on the result of this research, the implementation of learning cell method can improve students’ writing skill at the eighth grade of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the academic year of 2013/2014. It was seen from the improvement of students’ score, there were five students that the score was reached the KKM in cycle 1 and up in cycle 2, all students reached the KKM. The percentage of the test showed 31.25% in cycle 1 and 100% in cycle 2. The questionnaire result showed that the students were interested in this method. It was seen from the total of questionnaire I was 53.60% and questionnaire II was 81.56%. The observation check list result showed that the students become active during teaching learning process. It was seen from the data in cycle 1 that percentage of enjoyment 48.44%, participation 57.81% and attention 50% up in cycle 2, enjoyment 81.25%, participation 84.37% and attention 75%. Finally, the researcher concluded that the implementation of learning cell method improve the students writing skill at MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro and the researcher gives suggestion that English teachers should be creative in choosing strategy based on material. This study will be useful for the next researcher who will conduct research about the same case in different field of study.
