Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic business ethics in the buying and selling transactions of groceries at Bum'bon Hoscokro Ponorogo store. Research questions to understand: (1) Buying and selling transactions of groceries at Bum'bon Hoscokro Ponorogo store; (2) Implementation of Islamic business ethics in buying and selling transactions of groceries at Bum'bon Hoscokro Ponorogo store and its suitability; (3) Supporting and inhibiting factors.
The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field research as the type of research. The types of research data include primary data obtained based on total sampling criteria, including owners, employees, and buyers. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity techniques use source triangulation.
The results of the study show: 1) The practice of buying and selling transactions groceries at Bum'bon Hoscokro Ponorogo store has fulfilled the conditions and requirements: the subjects/actors of buying and selling are the owner, employees, and buyers; groceries and vegetables are the objects, which are halal through good relations with suppliers; and no coercion of buyers. The buying and selling include ba'i amanah, ba'i an-naqd, and ba'i salam. 2) Implementation of Islamic business ethics at Bum'bon Hoscokro Ponorogo store aligns with the principle of unity, such as the intention of worship, the principle of balanced pricing for fairness, and treating buyers equally, the principle of free will, such as involving employees in progress, the principle of responsibility for replacing damaged goods, and the principle of virtue by charity box and employees to help buyers. 3) Supporting factors: awareness and responsibility employee, the importance of ethics for business sustainability and customer loyalty, and the owner’s values of kindness. Inhibiting factors: differences in individuals ethical awareness like fatigue from work, and variations in background, experience, and religious understanding.
