Abdul Basit, 2025 The Role of Teachers in Enhancing Students' Learning Interest in Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Abror Pamarayan Serang Banten. Tesis Program Pascasarjana Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, Supervisor (1) : Dr. AB. Musyafa’ Fathoni, M.Pd. dan (2) Dr. Anip Dwi Saputro, M.Pd.
Students’ learning interest in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak plays a vital role in shaping their understanding and practice of religious values in daily life. However, in the reality of learning, challenges persist in enhancing students' interest in this subject. This study aims to analyze the teacher's role in increasing students' learning interest in Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Abror Pamarayan Serang Banten.
This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school officials. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
The research findings indicate that the teacher's role is proven to be central in fostering students' learning interest in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Abror, where they have effectively performed their functions as a comprehensive educator, planner, manager, supervisor, motivator, facilitator, and evaluator. Nevertheless, there remains potential for development in the teacher's roles that are not yet optimal, such as the functions of initiator, organizer, mediator, counselor, demonstrator, and innovator. In performing these roles, teachers face various obstacles, both from internal factors such as monotonous teaching methods, low student motivation, and passive classroom environments, as well as external factors that include a lack of parental support, limited school facilities, and inflexible educational policies.
