Abstract

Education is crucial for a nation's progress. Education is inseparable from the learning process. Indonesia is a country with diverse ethnicities, religions, and cultures, so it is essential for every individual to practice tolerance when interacting with others. Implementing tolerance requires a learning process. Using a case study learning strategy is considered effective in this regard.
This thesis aims to determine how learning using a case study strategy is implemented in class IX C at SMP Islam Annur'ain Tirtakencana, its results, and the factors influencing the success of learning using this strategy.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, which is a research method that uses descriptive data processing to interpret the results without any manipulation of variable data.
The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the case study learning strategy went quite well. The teacher prepared a lesson plan, delivered the material with real-life examples, and related it to everyday life. The learning process was still dominated by lecture and question-and-answer methods, but student participation tended to be passive. Learning outcomes from the case study strategy showed excellent results in the cognitive and affective domains, but showed adequate results in the psychomotor domain. Factors influencing the successful implementation of the case study strategy include the teacher, students, the learning environment, and the learning media. This study has limitations, namely that it cannot be generalized to all multicultural schools. Therefore, the implementation of the case study learning strategy that the author studied will result in different results when implemented in other schools, depending on the influencing factors.
